The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the Government’s independent regulator of all health and social care services in England. Their role is to register health and social care providers and to inspect whether or not standards are being met.

They then rate each service as either Inadequate, Requires Improvement, Good or Outstanding based on five core criteria, which are;

  • Safe
  • Effective
  • Caring
  • Responsive
  • Well-lead

Recovery Lighthouse was inspected under this new rating structure in April 2019 and they have been rated as GOOD overall.

According to the CQC, Recovery Lighthouse achieved this rating because “The service followed best practice in administering and monitoring medicine.” and that “Staff treated clients with respect and high regard, showing compassion and understanding for the impact of their substance misuse.”

“Clients spoke very highly about their experiences of the service, their relationships with staff and the impact the service had on their lives.” (Care Quality Commission)
